Harald “Harry” Steiner co-founded The Charter Store and is a managing partner of the firm. His experience in airfreight and logistics spans 30 years and is highlighted by over 23 years as a dedicated charter specialist.
Prior to starting the company, Harry opened and operated for 13 years the U.S. arm of a large global charter organization. From an initial two person endeavor, he built it to a successful multi-million dollar corporation with offices and staff throughout the U.S. In 2008, Harry along with business partner Julian “Rusty” Durden combined their experience, resources and philosophy of doing business to create The Charter Store.
A native of southern Germany, his baptism into the air cargo industry began shortly after school and completion of military service. An apprenticeship with a German freight forwarding company followed and, after graduating, he applied his new skills at Lufthansa (and subsequently, their dedicated charter subsidiary, German Cargo Services) in Frankfurt. Harry relocated to the United States in 1996, living in Atlanta before settling down in Fort Lauderdale, Florida in 2005.
Harry has been with his wife Michaela for over half of his life and they have been happily married for over 25 years. When not dedicating their efforts to The Charter Store, they can be found enjoying the sunny beaches of Florida, boating and spending time with friends. They care for their own four legged “kids” and support several animal rights organizations worldwide.
